About me

I am a political scientist and computational social scientist, working as an Assistant Research Professor and Assistant Director at the Center for Social Data Analytics (C-SoDA) at Penn State University.

My research examines political communication, representation, democratic accountability, and governance, with a cross-cutting interest in how complex political concepts can be measured credibly. I develop and evaluate AI-assisted measurement approaches for large-scale political research, asking when machine-generated measures can support credible empirical inference. My work also examines comparative public opinion and political trust, including the construction of cross-national measures for studying democratic governance.

My teaching connects political questions with research design and computational methods. I have taught courses in political science and social data analytics, including research design, computational social science, and practica on AI and governance.

I earned my PhD in 2022 from the University of Iowa and subsequently served as a postdoctoral scholar at C-SoDA from 2022 to 2024 before transitioning to my current role.
